What does parking at Schiphol cost?
Schiphol has various car parks with differing rates (checked in October 2026; prices vary by date and time of booking):
- P1 (close to the terminal): €2.70 per 20 minutes, €59.50 per 24 hours; a week online around €290–€310
- P3 (long-stay, free shuttle): without a booking €59.50 for the first day, €100 for two days and then €16 per 24 hours; online a week around €95–€140
- P6 Valet: booking required, a week around €180–€260
- Parking outside Schiphol (shuttle): around €8–€13 per day for about a week
So for a week's holiday you pay around €95–€140 at P3 if you book online in advance, and around €196 if you drive in without a booking. On top of that comes the fuel for the journey there and back.
Good to know
According to Schiphol, parking prices depend on the length of stay, when you book and availability. For a week or longer, booking online in advance is often 40–55% cheaper than driving in without a booking.
The real cost of parking
Suppose you live in Haarlem and drive to Schiphol yourself. That is around 20 kilometres each way, so around 40 kilometres there and back — plus the fuel for it. Then add the parking costs at P3:
- Short trip (2 days): €100 without a booking, online around €90–€100
- Week's holiday, booked online: around €95–€140
- Week's holiday, without a booking: around €196
- 2 weeks: around €138 online, around €308 without a booking
A taxi from Haarlem to Schiphol costs €55 there and €55 back = €110 return — for any length of trip, per car for 1–4 people.
When does a taxi work out cheaper?
To be honest: that depends on how you park. For one or two days, P3 without a booking (€59.50–€100) is cheaper than a return taxi. For a week, a taxi costs about the same as P3 booked online in advance, and is clearly cheaper than driving in without a booking (around €196), P1 (around €300) or valet (around €180–€260).
On top of that, the taxi has advantages that are worth money too: you are picked up at home, you do not have to drive after a long flight, you do not wait for a shuttle and you do not search for a parking space.
Good to know
According to Schiphol there is always space when you drive in. But if you do not book, you pay the full rate: for a week at P3 around €196 instead of around €95–€140.
The comfort argument
After a 10-hour flight, finding your car in a large car park, waiting for the shuttle, loading the luggage and then driving home in the evening rush hour — it can certainly be done, but it is not ideal. With AMS Taxi Schiphol the driver waits upstairs at Departure Hall 2, exit F. You get in, give your address and travel home in comfort. That comfort is worth something too.
Conclusion
For a week or longer, a taxi from AMS Taxi Schiphol costs about the same as P3 booked online in advance, and is clearly cheaper than driving in without a booking, P1 or valet. For one or two days, P3 is cheaper. If you choose the taxi, you also save yourself stress, driving fatigue and time spent searching. Book online or call +31 85 400 5400 for a fixed return price.
