After approval you will find your rides in the driver portal of the AMS Taxi app.

After approval you log in to the driver portal in the app. This is what you can do with it.

Open rides

New rides appear in the driver portal, and you receive a notification.

Accept a ride

Once you accept a ride, you see the customer's details and the exact pick-up address.

Navigation and status

Navigate to the address and set the ride to on the way, picked up and completed.

Live location

During the ride the customer follows your car on the map.

Earnings

You see what you have earned today and this week, and which commission is outstanding or paid.

Hand back a ride

If you cannot drive an accepted ride after all, you hand it back with a single button.

All rides come from us

You do not need to find customers yourself: all rides come from AMS Taxi and appear in your driver portal. The customer pays you, in cash or by card, or online in advance to AMS Taxi.

After approval you get access to the driver portal in the AMS Taxi app.

What we ask

  • Valid Dutch driving licence (held for at least 2 years)
  • Driver's card (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Good command of Dutch and English
  • Customer-friendly and well-presented
  • Knowledge of Schiphol and the surrounding area
  • Willingness to drive early mornings and weekends as well
  • Your own smartphone with a navigation app
  • Clean criminal record: Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
  • Your own black car, no more than 5 years old
  • Registered as a taxi, with a taxi number plate and on-board computer

Questions about becoming a driver

Do I need a driver's card to sign up?

A driver's card is preferred but not required. If you do not have a driver's card yet, you can obtain one after approval. We will help you with the application.

How much do I earn as a taxi driver with AMS Taxi Schiphol?

You work as a self-employed driver on a commission basis: the fare for the ride is yours, and AMS Taxi charges a commission. We discuss the terms during the introductory meeting.

Can I decide for myself when I drive?

Yes. You largely set your own availability and schedule, in consultation with our planning team.
