Wijk aan Zee is a small North Sea village of around 2,000 residents, popular with surfers, kite-surfers and weekend visitors from across the Randstad. It has no railway station. Reaching Schiphol by public transport means a bus to Beverwijk, a train to Haarlem or Amsterdam and then a connection to the airport — comfortably over ninety minutes with waiting time, and considerably longer outside peak hours.

By road it is about 40 kilometres, or 40 to 55 minutes via the A9 and A22. The drive skirts the Tata Steel works and the dunes of the Noordhollands Duinreservaat before joining the motorway network south of Beverwijk. Early departures are straightforward: there is almost no traffic leaving the coast before six in the morning.

Because Wijk aan Zee is a holiday village, a large share of our passengers here are staying in rented accommodation rather than at a fixed home address. We collect from holiday homes, campsites and the beach hotels alike — give us the exact address when booking and the driver will be at that door, not at a central pickup point.
