This is an English translation, made in August 2026, of our Dutch privacy policy. The Dutch text is the binding version; where the two differ, the Dutch wording prevails.

2. What data we collect
When you place a booking we collect the following personal data:
- First and last name
- Email address and telephone number
- Pick-up and destination address
- Flight details (flight number, date and time)
- Special requests or remarks
- Your device location — only through the app and only with your consent (see point 3)
- When paying online: the status of your iDEAL payment (only the payment provider sees your bank details)
If you use our app, we also keep:
- your account: email address and an encrypted password, or the link to your Apple or Google account;
- your name, phone number and preferred payment method, so the app can fill them in for your next ride;
- a technical address for push notifications, to tell you that your ride is confirmed or that your driver is on the way.
If you sign up as a driver, we also keep your name, contact details, car and registration number.
3. The app and location data
Our mobile app AMS Taxi Schiphol can use your device location — approximate location and/or precise location (GPS) — only with your consent.
We use that location to:
- fill in your current location as the pick-up address, when you choose to do so;
- show your position and the route on the map;
- improve the accuracy of your booking and your pick-up time.
For customers, the app uses location only in the foreground (while you are using the app) and only after you have given permission. You can withdraw that permission at any time in your phone settings; the app keeps working and you enter the pick-up address yourself.
Drivers: during a ride the driver has accepted, the app shares the driver’s location, also while the app is in the background. This only happens from “on the way” until the end of the ride, and only with the customer of that ride and our dispatch. The location is erased when the ride ends or is cancelled. While this is running, the driver’s phone shows a notification.
For maps and route planning we use Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited); your location may be passed to Google under Google’s own privacy policy. We never sell your location data. The legal basis is your consent and the performance of the transport agreement.
4. What we use your data for
Your data is used solely to carry out your booking, to contact you about your ride, and to meet our legal obligations. After a ride we may ask you once by email for a review. We never sell your data to third parties.
We use these processors to do so:
- Vercel (hosting of the website and app server) and Upstash (storage of bookings and accounts);
- Cloud86 (email) and Expo (push notifications in the app, United States);
- Mollie (iDEAL payments);
- Google (maps, routes and our dispatch calendar) and, if you sign in with them, Apple or Google.
5. Retention period
We keep ride and invoice data for 7 years, as long as the Dutch tax retention obligation applies. We keep your app account until you delete it; see delete your account. A driver’s location is erased after every ride.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics only after your explicit consent. You will find more in our cookie policy.
7. The chat assistant
Our website has a chat window where you can ask questions about our transport. What you type there is forwarded to Anthropic PBCin the United States, which composes the answer. Under Anthropic’s terms, data received through their programming interface is not used to train their models.
We do not keep the conversations. No history is stored: close the window and the conversation is gone. We do keep your IP address for at most one hour, to prevent anyone from overloading the assistant.
The assistant never asks for your address, date of birth, flight number or payment details, and it does not take bookings. Please do not type them yourself. For a reservation, use the booking form, where your details are handled properly.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — answering questions from visitors. If you would rather not use the assistant, call +31 85 400 5400.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights:
- The right to access, correct or delete your data
- The right to object to the processing
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority
Contact us on +31 85 400 5400 or through our contact form. If you hold an app account, you can also delete it yourself.
9. Changes
AMS Taxi Schiphol reserves the right to amend this privacy policy. The most recent version is always the one on this page.
