Overview: all car parks at Schiphol
Schiphol itself has these car parks:
- P1: right by the terminal, for short and long stays, walking distance 2–6 minutes; without a booking a maximum of 48 hours
- P3 Long-stay Terrein (open-air) and P3 Garage: further from the terminal, with a free shuttle that runs 24/7 every 10 minutes (ride around 5 minutes)
- P6 Valet (open-air and garage): booking required; you hand over your car at the P6 service desk and walk around 2 minutes to the departure hall
- P12: booking required, walking distance 10–15 minutes
In addition, there are car parks outside Schiphol with their own shuttle to the terminal.
Good to know
P2 and P4 no longer exist. P2 has been closed and demolished since 2017; the site of P4 Basic Parking is now a car-rental centre. If a comparison still lists them, it is out of date.
Schiphol parking rates 2026
The rates differ greatly by car park and by how you book (checked in October 2026; prices vary by date and time of booking):
P1:
- Without a booking: €2.70 per 20 minutes (€8.10 per hour), €59.50 per 24 hours
- Online: 1 day around €57.50, a week around €290–€310
P3 Terrein and Garage:
- Without a booking: €59.50 up to 24 hours, €100 up to 48 hours, then €16 per extra 24 hours — a week around €196, two weeks around €308
- Online: 1–5 days around €90–€100, a week around €95–€140, two weeks around €138
P6 Valet:
- Online: 1 day around €60–€67, a week around €180–€260
Outside Schiphol (with shuttle):
- Around €8–€13 per day for about a week
⚠️ According to Schiphol, booking in advance is often cheaper: for a week or longer, often 40–55% cheaper than driving in without a booking. Online prices are higher during school holidays.
Good to know
A week's parking at P1 easily costs around €300. From Haarlem, a return taxi journey (2 × €55 = €110) is then considerably cheaper — and more comfortable.
P1: when do you choose it?
P1 is the most expensive option but has the shortest walking distance — ideal for:
- Business travellers who want to get in and out quickly
- Picking someone up: Schiphol refers private drivers collecting someone to P1 Halen en Brengen (pick-up and drop-off), 2–6 minutes' walk from the arrivals hall
- Travellers with reduced mobility
For more than a day or two, P1 quickly becomes expensive: a week online costs around €290–€310.
P3 Terrein and Garage: who are they for?
P3 is Schiphol's own cheapest option — especially P3 Terrein. Suitable for:
- Holidays of a week or longer, booked online in advance
- Travellers who put price before convenience
- Short trips of one or two days, without a booking (€59.50–€100)
The free shuttle runs 24/7 every 10 minutes and the ride takes around 5 minutes. So on top of parking, allow time for the wait plus the ride.
P6 Valet, P12 or outside Schiphol?
P6 Valet is for those who want to walk or search as little as possible: you hand over your car at the P6 service desk and walk to the departure hall in around 2 minutes. Booking is required, and it costs more than P3: a week around €180–€260.
P12 can only be used with a booking. You walk 10–15 minutes to the terminal. Check schiphol.nl for the current price.
Parking outside Schiphol is the cheapest at around €8–€13 per day, but you depend on the provider's shuttle.
Parking or taxi: which is cheaper?
A return taxi from Haarlem costs €110 per car, for 1–4 people. Compared with a week's parking:
| A week's parking | Price | Return taxi (€110) |
|---|---|---|
| P3 booked online | around €95–€140 | about the same |
| P3 without a booking | around €196 | clearly cheaper |
| P6 Valet | around €180–€260 | clearly cheaper |
| P1 | around €290–€310 | less than half |
For one or two days away, P3 is cheaper. But when the price is comparable, convenience tips the balance: you do not drive yourself, do not wait for a shuttle, do not search for a space and are picked up at home.
What is more: with a taxi you do not have to drive back after a long flight. You get in, the driver drives — you can relax or even sleep.
