What does parking at Schiphol cost in 2026?

What you pay for parking at Schiphol depends heavily on the car park, the length of your stay and above all on one choice: do you book online in advance or drive in without a booking? For a week at P3 that is the difference between around €95–€140 and around €196. In this article we give you an overview of the parking rates at Schiphol in 2026, plus an honest comparison with a taxi.

Current Schiphol parking rates 2026

Schiphol itself offers several car parks, each with its own rates (checked in October 2026; prices vary by date and time of booking):

P1 — Short and long stay (right by the terminal)

  • Without a booking: €2.70 per 20 minutes (€8.10 per hour), €59.50 per 24 hours
  • Without a booking you can stay a maximum of 48 hours
  • Booked online: 1 day around €57.50, a week around €290–€310
  • Walking distance to the terminal: 2–6 minutes

P3 — Long-stay Terrein (open-air) and P3 Garage

  • Without a booking: €59.50 for the first 24 hours, €100 up to 48 hours, then €16 per extra 24 hours
  • Booked online: 1–5 days around €90–€100, a week around €95–€140, two weeks around €138
  • Free shuttle to the terminal: 24/7, every 10 minutes, ride around 5 minutes
  • P3 Terrein is Schiphol's own cheapest car park

P6 Valet

  • Booking required
  • You hand over your car at the P6 service desk and walk to the departure hall in around 2 minutes
  • Online: 1 day around €60–€67, a week around €180–€260

P12

  • Booking required
  • Walking distance to the terminal: 10–15 minutes

Parking outside Schiphol (with shuttle)

  • Around €8–€13 per day for a stay of about a week
  • Suitable for: longer trips on a tight budget

You will still come across P2 and P4 online, but they no longer exist: P2 has been closed and demolished since 2017, and the site of P4 Basic Parking is now a car-rental centre.

Good to know

According to Schiphol, parking prices depend on the length of stay, when you book and availability. Booking in advance is often cheaper: for a week or longer, often 40–55% cheaper than driving in without a booking.

Total parking costs by length of trip

This is what the parking bill at P3 looks like, with and without a booking, excluding fuel:

P3 without a booking

  • 1 day: €59.50
  • 2 days: €100
  • Each extra 24 hours: €16
  • A week: around €196
  • Two weeks: around €308

P3 booked online

  • 1–5 days: around €90–€100
  • A week: around €95–€140 (higher in school holidays)
  • Two weeks: around €138

For one or two days, driving in without a booking is therefore no more expensive than booking online. After a few days that changes, and for a week or longer booking in advance saves a lot. Add the fuel for the journey there and back: from Haarlem that is around 40 kilometres in total.

When is a taxi cheaper than parking?

A return taxi from Haarlem to Schiphol costs €110 for the whole car (2× €55), for 1–4 people. Compare that with the parking costs:

  • One or two days: P3 without a booking (€59.50–€100) is cheaper than the taxi
  • A week, P3 booked online (around €95–€140): about the same as the taxi
  • A week without a booking (around €196), at P1 (around €300) or with valet (around €180–€260): the taxi is clearly cheaper

If the price is comparable, the rest tips the balance: with the taxi you do not drive yourself, you do not wait for a shuttle and you do not search for a space — you are picked up at home.

Good to know

A return taxi from Haarlem to Schiphol costs a fixed €110 (for 1–4 people), however long you are away. That is roughly what P3 booked online costs for a week — without you having to drive yourself.

Hidden costs of parking

Parking rates are not the only cost. Do not forget these items either:

  • Fuel there and back: depending on where you live; from Haarlem it is around 40 kilometres
  • Wear and tear on your car: on average €0.30 per kilometre
  • P3 shuttle bus: free and every 10 minutes, but allow for the wait plus a ride of around 5 minutes
  • No booking: if you drive in without a booking, a week costs around €196 instead of around €95–€140
  • Stress after a long flight: driving yourself after 10 hours of flying

These costs are rarely included in the calculation, but they add up.

Tips for cheaper parking at Schiphol

If you do choose to park, these are our tips for keeping costs down in 2026:

1. Book in advance via schiphol.nl — for a week or longer often 40–55% cheaper than without a booking

2. Choose P3 Terrein — Schiphol's own cheapest car park

3. Compare parking outside Schiphol — with shuttle around €8–€13 per day for about a week

4. Watch out for school holidays — online prices are higher then

5. Only away briefly? Just drive in — for one or two days P3 without a booking is no more expensive, and according to Schiphol there is always space when you drive in

Conclusion: parking or taxi in 2026?

If you drive in without a booking, or choose P1 or valet, a taxi from AMS Taxi Schiphol is clearly cheaper for a week. If you book P3 online in advance, the price is about the same — but the taxi offers more: pickup at home, no driving yourself, no shuttle and a driver who tracks your flight live. For one or two days away, P3 is cheaper. Book your return journey online or call +31 85 400 5400.
