Which lounges are there at Schiphol?
Schiphol has several types of lounge:
Airline and alliance lounges:
- KLM Crown Lounge 25 (Schengen) and KLM Crown Lounge 52 (non-Schengen) — access for KLM business class, Flying Blue Platinum/Gold and SkyTeam Elite Plus. If you are flying economy, you can sometimes buy access (around €60 to €75)
- Star Alliance Lounge (Schengen, Departures 2) — for Star Alliance Gold members and business class
- oneworld Lounge (Lounge 40, non-Schengen) — open since 22 February 2024; the former British Airways lounge closed in 2022
Commercial lounges (everyone welcome):
- Aspire Lounge 26 — Schengen, near the D gates
- Aspire Lounge 41 — non-Schengen, in Lounge 2 near the D and E piers
Other lounges:
- Privium ClubLounges — for Privium members
- American Express Centurion Lounge — new in 2026, for holders of certain American Express cards
All lounges are airside — you enter them after the security check.
Good to know
Schiphol has more than ten lounges, spread across the Schengen and non-Schengen areas. Not every lounge can be reached from every gate — always check that the lounge is in the same area as your departure gate.
Priority Pass: the most popular route
Priority Pass is a lounge membership with a network of more than 1,900 lounges and experiences worldwide, including the Aspire Lounges at Schiphol.
How does Priority Pass work?
- You buy a Priority Pass membership: Standard costs €89 per year (sometimes with a first-year discount)
- Or you get Priority Pass through your credit card: it is included with the American Express Platinum, and some business credit cards offer it too
- You show the app or card at the lounge desk
Cost per visit (Standard membership):
- €30 per visit, for yourself and for each guest
Tip: first check what your credit card already offers — with the American Express Platinum you get unlimited lounge visits plus one free guest.
Paying per visit (without a membership)
No Priority Pass? You can also pay per visit for the Aspire Lounges at Schiphol:
- Price: around €40–€50 for 3 hours (prices vary)
- How: book online in advance or at the entrance
- Included: food and drink, wifi, quiet seating and toilets. Showers are only available in Aspire Lounge 41, at an extra charge
- Children: under-2s go free
The advantage of booking in advance: you can be sure there is room, and booking is sometimes cheaper than paying at the door.
Good to know
Aspire Lounge 26 is in the Schengen area near the D gates, Aspire Lounge 41 in the non-Schengen area near the D and E piers. Choose the lounge in the same area as your departure gate.
Access via your plane ticket or credit card
Via your plane ticket:
- Business class tickets automatically give access to your airline's business lounge
- KLM Premium Comfort and Economy Comfort do not give automatic lounge access
Via your credit card:
Some credit cards offer lounge access:
- American Express Platinum — Priority Pass with unlimited lounge visits plus one free guest
- Some business credit cards — Priority Pass included
Check the terms of your credit card — some require you to pay for the ticket with that card.
Is a lounge worth it?
Whether a lounge is worth it depends on:
- How long you are waiting: waiting less than 1 hour? Probably not worth it. If you are waiting 2+ hours it is very comfortable.
- Who you are travelling with: with children or older people a quiet lounge is especially pleasant — away from the crowds
- Early or late departure: for a 06:00 flight, a hot breakfast buffet and a quiet seat are worth their weight in gold
Tip: book your taxi from home early enough so you can relax comfortably in the lounge before your flight. Work out your ideal time to leave home.
